Feeling Fresh in the new year

The living room can feel a little empty when the tree comes down, but there’s also something invigorating about empty space--a blank wall, a clean countertop or an open corner, ready for something new. Here are our suggestions for channeling some of that fresh energy into your home this month.

Blast our January playlist for fresh motivation tackling a few items you may have been putting off.

Round up a hardworking arsenal of cleaning supplies

and scrape the last bits of gingerbread house frosting from the kitchen floor.

Master your sourdough loaf

with this genius tutorial. It took some nudging, but trust us; now that we are into the routine, we can’t imagine not starting the day with a fresh slice.

Perk up your pillows

with new covers, inserts (or both if it’s been awhile) to upgrade your sofa and elevate your lounging game.

With a clean kitchen and a loaf of bread in the oven, you can call it a day. Sink into those freshly-fluffed pillows and enjoy our January picks for reading, watching and shopping.
