Wake Up in the English Countryside

Wake Up in the English Countryside

Turn your home into a cozy cottage retreat

When even a trip to the grocery store can feel ambitious these days, we’re dreaming of a trip “across the pond”, as they say. On our list of dream destinations is a quaint bed and breakfast in the English countryside.  Maybe we’ve watched The Holiday one too many times, but a cozy cottage with a fireplace, deep soaking tub and European range sounds like just what we need right now. Until we can book those tickets, here are a few home details you can incorporate into your own home that will have you feeling like you woke up in the Cotswolds.

Farmhouse Kitchen Details

A farmhouse sink and accessories are the epitome of cottage style, and ever so useful for washing produce, trimming flowers and scrubbing oversized serving dishes.

Market Finds

Produce bowls, egg crates and bread boxes all make farmer’s market finds visually appealing until they are used, providing a seasonal, organic countertop display that can change with the seasons.

Cozy Cooking Tools

Cozy cooking tools like a tea kettle, Dutch oven and rustic cutting boards make prepping your favorite comfort foods easy and beautiful. A gorgeous European range in robin-egg blue doesn’t hurt either!

Pretty Paper

Pretty wallpaper in a precious floral print brings cottage charm to the smallest of nooks of a pantry, closet, mudroom or powder bath.

Cottage Cut-outs

Cottage cut-outs add traditional character and add a historical feel to new cabinetry.

Reclaimed barn accessories

A milking stool adds just enough height to reach tall cabinets and at countertop height is the perfect sink-side perch.

Elevated Bath

A Soaking tub is the shortest route to a vacation state of mind, especially with a roundup of elevated apothecary essentials.
